iFixit, the folks behind all those thorough device teardowns, we’ve come to know and love, have released a tablet ranking, based on how easy they are to take apart and repair.
The new Microsoft Surface devices and the recent iPad generations all rate very poorly amongst other tablets on the list, due in large part to the adhesive used on the devices, which renders them easily breakable while trying to take apart.
iFixit rates devices on a scale of 0-10, based on how easy they are to take apart, how complex the major parts are to replace, and whether or not proprietary tools are required for servicing.
If you’d like to take a look at the full list, which is headed by the likes of the Dell XPS 10 and the Amazon Kindle Fire, go this way.
