Acer has officially announced the Iconia A1-830 and B1-720 tablets. The latest additions will be showcased at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that kicks off on January 7.
The Acer Iconia A1-830 sports a 7.9-inch LED-backlit IPS display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The 4:3 screen can be viewed at angles of up to 178 degrees. With 1GB of RAM, the tablet is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor, which also comes with the Hyper-Threading technology.
The A1-830 features a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2MP front facer, and comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via a microSD card slot. As usual, the slate comes with a wide range of connectivity options, but there is no LTE support. Acer’s latest tablet is about 8.15mm thick and weighs about 380g. Running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, the device has a battery of undisclosed capacity, which the company claims will last for about 7.5 hours.
On the other hand, the B1-720 is an affordable offering, with a 7-inch display. There is a dual-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz along with 1 GB of RAM under the hood. The Acer B1-720 has 16GB of internal memory and supports expansion via microSD cards. Lastly, the device comes with a battery that’s said to last for about 5 hours on a single charge.
The Acer Iconia A1-830 and B1-720 will be available in white by the end of February with a price tag of €169 (about $230) and €129 (about $176) respectively.
