How to Find Your Facebook ID

As of March 2012, an estimated 901 million people are active users on Facebook, the most popular social media network on the planet, I believe this number has increased to over 1 billion people. The social networks has taken great measures to manage each users account with a number of features to provide their members with security and privacy while using their accounts. When a new member sets up their Facebook account for the first time, the system immediately assigns the Facebook user with an ID number.

For whatever reason, users may want to know how to retrieve their Facebook ID. The steps to do this are simple, and just a few clicks away.

How to Find Your Facebook ID Number

1) Log into your Facebook account.

2) You should be able to see your name beside your profile picture at the upper right corner, click on it

3) There are two ways of doing this, you can either hover your mouse over your profile photo or click on your profile photo and wait for the page to load.

5) Go to the URL bar in your browser with your mouse and slide it along the bar; you should see a string of
numbers appear.

6) Look for the set of numbers that follow after the word “fbid=”.

7) This is your Facebook ID number.

Social networking websites such as Facebook has one priority which is to help their account users stay connected with their family and friends, and also have endless opportunities to meet new people along the way. Email, phone numbers, and physical addresses can all be easily accessed with an active Facebook ID. The Facebook ID number especially comes in handy if you’re a person who uses Facebook applications on a regular basis. Coda Automotive will open 30 dealers to sell its electric cars

After a "soft launch" in March, Coda is ready to sell its electric sedan in California, Oregon, and Florida. Will there be any takers?

Coda Automotive unveiled its electric sedan in California this past March and, seven months later, the company is ready to open its first dealers to sell the EV. Thirty dealers, mostly in California, will sell the car known simply as the Coda sedan.

“March through July was a soft launch: new car, new company, new manufacturing process, new everything,” Coda CEO Phil Murtaugh told Automotive News. “Now as we get into real production ramp-up we need to add some dealers.”

Most of the dealers will be in Coda’s home state of California, but the company also plans to expand to potentially EV-friendly states such as Florida and Oregon.

Coda has delivered 100 cars in California since the “soft launch” in March. The company did not release any sales projections, but it did say that 1,000 cars have been ordered.

Coda’s ultimate goal is to capture 15 percent of the non-luxury EV market, putting it in direct competition with the Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, and Ford Focus Electric, but excluding the more expensive Tesla Model S.

Pitched as an economical alternative to other EVs, the Coda costs $37,250, (but is eligible for a $7,500 tax credit). That means it is undercut not just by the super cheap Mitsubishi ($29,125), but also by the Leaf, which starts at $35,200. The Focus starts at $39,200.Coda sedan rear view

The Coda has an average range of 88 miles per charge, giving it a slight advantage over the Leaf (79 miles) and Focus (76 miles), and leaving the i-MiEV, which has a 62-mile range, in the dust.

The Coda sedan is made from a chassis and batteries imported from China, with final assembly taking place in Benicia California. It is essentially an electric version of the Chinese Hafei Saibao.

In terms of interior and exterior styling, the Coda looks like it’s based on a car from the 1990s. Unlike the EV competition, the Coda also looks like a normal car. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is for buyers to decide.

If all goes well, Coda will expand its lineup in 2014 with a second model built entirely in China. The car will be codeveloped with Great Wall Motor Co., and sold under the Coda name in the United States and the Great Wall name in China.

Coda doesn’t seem to have reinvented the wheel with its EV, so it will be interesting to see whether it can stand up to the flashier competition. Opening dealerships is the company’s first step toward becoming a permanent presence in the auto industry, and will be the ultimate test of its viability.

Apple and Foxconn Make Progress on Working Conditions at Factories

Are things getting better for the Chinese workers who assemble iPads and iPhones for Apple?  Back in March, the Fair Labor Association released a report on the poor conditions at Apple’s Foxconn supplier. The organization gave a long list of recommendations to Apple and Foxconn, and both Apple and Foxconn agreed to follow them.

Today, five months later, the FLA says that that Foxconn has completed 280 action items on time or ahead of schedule.

“Our verification shows that the necessary changes, including immediate health and safety measures, have been made,” Auret van Heerden, president and CEO of the Fair Labor Association, said in a statement. “We are satisfied that Apple has done its due diligence thus far to hold Foxconn accountable for complying with the action plan, including the commitment to reform its internship program.”

Apple and Foxconn made a number of physical changes in the last few months to improve worker safety, including more testing of equipment and changes to prevent repetitive stress injuries. A detailed report of the improvements is posted on the FLA site.

Foxconn also took steps to improve working hours, but it still has not reached the final goal. By July 1, 2013, Foxconn has promised to reduce worker hours to the legal limit of 49 hours per week and stabilize pay. Foxconn has already reduced the workload to under 60 hours per week.

“The next phase of improvements will be challenging for Foxconn because they involve major changes in the working environment that will inevitably cause uncertainty and anxiety among workers,” van Heerden said. Making changes to the working hours are among the 76 remaining action items that Foxconn has to accomplish before next July.

Apple was reported to have become history’s most valuable company Monday, though the numbers did not account for inflation.  It has sold approximately 37 million iPhones and 15.4 million iPads in the last three months of last year.
